I'm absolutely thrilled to have another project included in the forthcoming issue of Crafty magazine! Best of all it's a boro cushion project which includes two of my favourite things: indigo dyed fabrics and lots of hand stitching–although mine does tend towards monotonous lines of running stitch rather than fancy swirls and flowers. Seriously, I do wonder if my love for for running stitch means I'm either a) a bear with very little brain, or, b) ever so slightly OCD! The thing is though, I find running stitch so calming and pleasing to the eye.
If boro is not your thing, there's plenty of other marvellous stuff in this issue…
I love this knitted patchwork chair by Sara Reetham…
and I'm really looking for to the interview with Game of Thrones costume designer, Michele Carragher. Isn't the above piece splendid? As ever, the styling and photography are gorgeous, so good in fact that this picture of meringue kisses actually makes me want to eat them, and I don't even like meringues!

Fantastic! It may or may not be OCD, but the results are beautiful and the work is very soothing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Boro and running stitches are just lovely and not intimidating for someone who is new to embroidery. I think a Boro cushion would look perfect in a modern home with a lot of personal touches.
