The longest journey…

starts with a pile of hexagons. I am probably the world's slowest quilter, possibly because I like to do as much as I can by hand, rather than machine. Machines tend to splutter and choke on thread, while needles can snap, fingers just get sore and need a little rest.

At least the English paper piecing is all done. This close up, and the pebble, have given me an idea for the next section of my quilt.

Time to cut more scraps.

  1. That's going to be very beautiful and I look forward to seeing it. (Love the pebble - I have some like that from Hastings beach, including one with a strange hole in it just like that. Wish I knew what they were!)

  2. That doesn't look like slow work to me; you have an impressive pile! They blocks look good with the pebble, and I am intrigued by what's in stall for the next section of the quilt.
